CHRISTMAS OUT AT SEA
Embarking on their first ever Christmas album, Scythian releases Christmas Out at Sea, a seafarer’s take of celebrating Christmas at sea in the days of shanties, whaling, sea monsters and squalls. You’ll be taken on a journey from port town pubs to the open seas, with special guests like Boxing Banjo and more climbing aboard to join the lads in their musical journey through the Yuletide songs of yore. You’re invited to join them in a venture that is this Christmas album, to sing along as they weave and nest layers of treasured carols within songs that are meant to play out like a musical story from beginning to end. Let the festivities commence!

HELP UKRAINIANS STAY WARM
Brothers Alex and Dan Fedoryka are 100% Ukrainian. Both their parents escaped the Communists before the Iron Curtain dropped and its sad to see history repeating itself. Fuel lines and power grids have been heavily hit and it promises to be a frigid winter. 100% of ALL Scythian album sales on this platform will go to Ukrainian relief efforts partnering with the Knights of Columbus who have already raised $20 million dollars in relief funds!

Partnering with the Knights
In partnership with the Knights of Columbus, 100% of ALL Scythian album sales on this platform will go directly to support those affected by the war in Ukraine. Within 36 hours of the Russian invasion last February, the Knights committed $1 million in immediate humanitarian aid and established the Ukraine Solidarity Fund. So far, nearly $20 million has been raised, as the Knights of Columbus works with local partners and members to provide temporary shelter, food, medical supplies and other aid. Christmas Out At Sea
We were drawn towards a maritime take on Christmas for several reasons: Similar to the shepherds of Jesus' time, sailors were often seen as the unwanted of society and this "outcast" character shines a light on the true state of affairs. To quote GK Chesterton - "we're all in the same boat and we're all seasick." We're all in need of a savior.
Harkening back to ancient carols, sung with manly voices, we're hoping to create a space that lets the true power and theology of the hymns to affect the listener. In an age of polished crooners which focus on the "feel-good" of Christmas, we hope this album brings renewed appreciation for a season which points towards our need for a savior and the gratitude which comes from being saved while lost at sea.
